Katherine Hawes is the founder and Principal Solicitor of Aquarius Lawyers. She was admitted to legal practice in NSW in 1998 and has worked as a barrister, a Legal Officer with Legal Aid NSW and a principal solicitor.

Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Technology Sydney, a Bachelor of Laws from UNSW, a Master of Maritime and Ocean Law from the University of Wollongong and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Katherine advises across criminal defence, commercial, property and marine law. Her public professional record lists almost nine years with Legal Aid NSW before she established her principal-solicitor practice, and her current NSW practising certificate is recorded as Principal of a law practice in the Law Practice class.

Alongside legal practice, Katherine has lectured in corporations, business and international fisheries law. Her industry work has included leadership with the Association of International Seafood Professionals and co-founding Aquaculture without Frontiers Australia.
